ALAN LEVIN TO SPEAK AT A. PHILLIP RANDOLPH INSTITUTE MEETING

It will all happen Saturday Morning at 10 am a the A.P.R.I.
meeting; located at the union hall at 200 S.Claymont St in the SouthBridge area. DON’T MISS THIS ONE….ALAN LEVIN WHO IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO ANNOUNCING FOR THE GOVERNOR’S RACE WILL BE HITTING THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL UNOFFICIALLY, OR COURSE.

Levin is obviously aware that the odds are against a Republican winning a governor’s race in this State….but, like another great man who invented the phrase: he is hoping that people will vote for the “QUALITY OF CHARACTER”, not the party affiliation. Levin makes it pretty clear that labels don’t count. He is running more as a Popularist, than he is as a Republican Party establishment type. Yes, I’m a HUGE supporter, and have been for more than a year, before there was any talk of him even being interested in running.

Most of us know that you don’t win any statewide office without carrying a significant number of Wilmington voters. ALAN LEVIN, JUST LIKE HIS DAD WHO FOUNDED THE HAPPY HARRY’S STORES, LOVES WILMINGTON, AND the PEOPLE WHO LIVE AND WORK IN WILMINGTON. WE SHOULD KEEP LEVIN IN MIND WHEN IT COMES TO THE GOVERNOR’S RACE. He hasjoined every human service event he was ever asked to do…and most of the time, he jumped into human service projects that he developed before others did.

As far as being a governor goes, his qualifications are probably not as well known as they should be BUT HE’S CERTAINLY GOT THEM. He’s done a lot more than just guide the very successful
expansion of what most call the best chain of stores that the State has ever seen…..the HAPPY HARRY’S CHAIN.
Check out these qualifications: ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL/
RIGHT HAND MAN OF U.S. SENATOR BILL ROTH, many consider him the best Washington politican this State ever had/
and, yes the FISCALLY SOUND HAPPY HARRY’S CHAIN/
All of that background comes to exactly what we would want to see in a governor/ INTELLIGENT EXPERIENCE IN POLICTICS/
DOCUMENTED INTREGRITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT HONESTY/
KNOWS HOW TO SAVE, AND PRODUCTIVELY USE MONEY/
Check Out The Things He Has SWORN TO SUPPORT:
INSPECTOR GENERAL…he says he won’t wait for legislation, because he will create the Inspector General Office by Executive Order within days, if it is elected. No politics in that position.
HE’S AGAINST EMINENT DOMAIN/ HE IS FOR OPENING GOVERNMENT/
HE WILL CUT WASTE IN ALL AREAS OF STATE FISCAL POLICIES/
IN FAVOR OF SUNDAY BUS SERVICE / HE’LL REFORM EDUCATION/
HE WILL EXPAND AND IMPROVE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION/
HE HATES THE IDEA OF BURYING BILLS IN THE LEGISLATURE/
HE IS IN FAVOR OF THE REFERENDUM CONCEPT FOR DELAWARE/
ALAN LEVIN has a lot more going for him when it comes to who would make the best REFORM GOVERNOR. Check him out at the
A.Phillip Randolph Institute meeting SATERDAY MORNING AT 10AM

  1. ANNON II Says:

Again I say…..Mr. Levin should use his strengths to unite his party and make a plan for the future. He does not need an embarrassing blotch on his reputation by being beaten to the ground by some half baked Dem (Carney). Nor would it do any good for him to take on Markell. How would Delawareans benefit from two very good candidates…one office. I am beginning to feel like I am talking into the darkness…but history will tell.

  2. Gerry Fulcher Says:

OK, NOW THIS IS GETTING SCARY…..YOU AND I AGREEING TWICE IN THE SAME DAY…I NEVER THOUGHT WE WOULD AGREE TWICE IN THE SAME LIFETIME, LET ALONE THE SAME DAY.
I have nothing to add but to agree. I just returned from his presentation at the A.Philip Randolph meeting. He is very clever in his presentation…he never mentions the republican party as such. He is actually running as a “popularist”. He doesn’t need them or want them, in my opinion. He has all the right issues…open government, inspector general/ healty care/ and so on.
I disagree on one of your points…I DON’T want him wasting his time trying toe chang the party….the people who are there now don’t know how and don’t wqnt to change anyway. He should do his best and get elected, and do a hell of job as governor…one of the results will be that only the better people running the republican party now will change because of him…and those who don’t will be forced out of their positions in the party.
You are also right about this election. We have to hope for Carney to win the primary…because he brings a lot of bad baggage with him from the Minner administration….there are serious bad things that can be pinned on Carney….besides; Carney is against Inspector General/ against Open Government/ he is FOR eminent domain….HE IS DEFINITLY BEATABLE.
If it is Levin against Markell, all you have is a campaign with two very nice, very successful, very rich Jewish Guys….in that case the numbers say Markell wins with more democrats….but, if it’s Carney vs Levin…many dems will switch to Levin….HE DID GREAT AT THE MEETING THIS MORNING BY THE WAY.
    Thanks for the insghts, Annon

    Agreement? Who with Who?
Gerry, When you are not destroying someone or their reputation, your evaluations make more sense.

This is accurate, As you said:

    Keep it positive……..

  4. Delaware113 Says:

Why does it matter that Levin and markell are Jewish?

  5. Gerry Fulcher Says:

    DELAWARE 113…
It doesn’t matter at all, EXCEPT it is uncanny that they both have the exact same profiles:
    both around the same age
both first time running for high office
both very successful, and let’s be honest; rich
both fight against big odds….(Markell bucking the democratic system because Carney is the choice of the party) (Levin, bucking the odds of a being a republican in a heavy democratic state)
both have reputations for being really nice guys
    and both Jewish……
I have never seen such an evenly matched pair opposing one another, have YOU? What do you use to make a choice between them?
Levin would have a much better chance against a Carney who carries of lot of bad baggage from being in the Minner administration.
We can really see a difference between Levin and Carney’
but because there is no real difference for people to choose from between Markell and Levin….the dems would win hands down, because the heavy democratic numbers favor a democrat.
    Understand?

  6. Delaware113 Says:

I do understand, and thanks. I see that you were simply making a comparison. The problem is that some people will hold that fact against both of them, and that’s how we’ll wind up with Carney

  7. Gerry Fulcher Says:

OH GOD! DON’T TELL ME THAT THIS STATE IS STILL LIKE THAT?

I thought that stuff pretty much ended when Shapiro got the top job at the duPont Company.

  8. ANNON II Says:

    Bring on the Jew boys!!!!!

…..the last time the city of Wilmington ran with some semblense (ck.) of order was when Bill McLaughlin was mayor and the 9th floor was ‘crawling’ with brilliant Jewish Americans!!!! They would have opposed eminent domain and would never have given the Hope(less) Commission over 1 Mil.

BTW I believe that ‘this state is still like that’. Back in the 70’s when Jews were transfered here by one of the big corps. it was considered ‘hard duty’ like being sent to Salt Lake City…..if you know what I mean. You have to admit the local Jewish community is a pretty clubby group….generally keeping a very low profile.

  9. Delaware113 Says:

…Probably keeping a low profile to keep people off their backs.

I agree…The state is “still like that.”
