SPENCE—WAGNER—FULCHER!

BOY! THERE’S A TRILOGY WHICH DEPICTS
“THE GOOD”, “THE BAD” AND “THE UGLY!
Frist—-TERRY SPENCE, THE GOOD:
TERRY SPENCE STANDING UP FOR LITTLE GUY, AND FIGHTING LIKE HELL AGAINST HIS OWN PARTY. IF SOME ONE ELSE DID THIS, HE WOULD BE CALLED A HERO. How did this skip attention? There is a bill floating around, and guaranteed to pass, to allow land owners of trailer park properties to give themselves a totally free hand to raise the land rents of all trailer park residents. There are a lot of jokes about trailer part residents…but let me tell you something…there are a lot of good, honest, law-abiding people who live in trailer parks for reasons which are none of our business….and not the business of the state legislators who are trying to screw them. This power play is allowing some owners to almost double the rents…something that will financially kill many trailer owners.

What’s behind this move? You figure it out….Terry Strind’s relatives own a number of trailer parks down state. Terry Spence looked into the proposed bill and saw the danger to people who will be driven out, and could actually run the risk of being homeless.

Spence introduced a resolution to halt the bill, and create a moratorium, until some negotiations could be held to figure out a compromise deal might be considered. The Dems voted down Spence’s resolution, BUT SPENCE DID NOT GET ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN TO VOTE FOR HIS RESOLUTION. He got blanked by his own party legislators. Remember, it was Spence who took a lot of party heat when he was honest enough to admit to me that the so-called John Atkins self-request for a full investigation was nothing but a scam to make it LOOK like Atkins really was honest and open.

In this day and age of hidden agendas; let’s look at the Republican Party leader with the relatives in the trailer park ownership business down state. At least Nancy Wagner dirty deal didn’t hurt people as much as this “insider deal” will, while Strind’s family members make a bundle. TERRY SPENCE STOOD UP AGAINST THE ENTIRE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES….AND GOT SHUT-OUT; NOT ONE SINGLE VOTE FOR A TIME-OUT TO TALK ABOUT THE PROS AND CONS OF THIS TERRIBLE BILL. Nancy Wagner’s nepotism deal was wrong….but this is even worse. How about full disclosure about how and why STRIND got all his Republican peeps to march lockstep on this issue? Come on, you investigative blogger types…help us out with your wisdom.

SECOND POINT ABOUT SPENCE: how totally rediculous for the News Journal to say that Spence “got jobs” in the state police for his sons; which the Journal insinuated in their otherwise excellent article on nepotism last Sunday. I know a little bit about this police issue….Terry didn’t even know his two sons had applied for law enforcement careers until AFTER they took and passed the tests with very high marks. They have normal assignments, which fit their talents, based on normal law enforcement manpower needs. SPENCE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR JOBS, OR THEIR ASSIGNMENTS. In fact, State Police types with talent actually consider a relative in politics as a burden they have to put up with. They want to be left alone. I know some high ranking State Police officials who proved to me that the Spence sons got no special deals, and never will. Spence has nothing to do with careers.

NOW, NANCY WAGNER, THE BAD….how soon we forget….is there any one out there who remembers me spilling the beans back in 2006—when I said on a radio station, which, shall remain “call-letterless”…..”A legislator on the Joint Finance Commitee told me that Nancy Wagner is coming to almost all meetings and constantly begging for a job for her husband.” I even got more specific and said that a bid was given out for some type of computer program which was awarded to some one else; and Wagner begged the Joint Finance Committee to withdraw the contract, and put the bid out again because “my husband didn’t fully undestand the bid process, and he deserved another chance”.

BY THE WAY….IF YOU WANT TO PLACE BLAME FOR THE WAGNER SCAM GOING THROUGH….POINT YOUR COLLECTIVE FINGERS AT JOE DIPINTO….he was running the show then. DiPinto and Nancy Cooke used to play epilogue musical chairs
after the JFC was finished their deliberations, and dismissed for the year. They would have little (tete-a-tetes)—that’s french for “putting heads together”…they did it to me back in 2006.

GERRY FULCHER, “THE UGLY”
Short version….U. Of D. does statewide survey about how compulsive gambling odolescents are increasing faster than compulsive gambing adults. Great study…filled with documentation. I pursue it, and find out that no one is doing anything of a preventive nature in our schools. There are all kinds of the preventive substance abuse projects; but nothing on the fastest growing addiction in the country (proven fact).
I said to myself, “Self, you’ve been in the field since 1978. You are a former educator on the high school and college levels…You’re a nationally published writer on the subject. Get your ass moving and do something, self”.

I put together a proposal and gave it to JFC. It callled for writing a preventive high school course, get it into schools throughout the state; and teach teachers how to teach the course. IT PASSES IN THE JOINT FINANCE COMMITTEE…it’s $20,000. Ok, signed, sealed and delivered, right? WRONG!

The JFC finishes for the year…..DiPinto and Cooke “talk”. They change the epilogue, to make sure I DON’T get the money. They hide it in the Department of Health and Social Services..where it disappears. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE SCHOOLS ON THIS SUBJECT; AND THE U. OF D. STUDY PREDICTING A MASSIVE INCREASE IN AD0LESECENT ADDICTED GAMBLING GOES ON. As DiPinto would put it….”Who gives a rat’s ass about the kids….all I’m concerned with is that I got to screw Fulcher”. Joe “I never met a gambling project I didn’t love” DiPinto hated me since 1980 when I successfully crusaded against jai alai (pronounced high-lie) coming to Wilmington. I beat him by one vote in the Senate which killed the bill. Jai alai is that spanish gambling game with the basket attached to the arm….you may have seen it. I have also so far contributed in a minot way to put a casino or two on the Wilmington Water Front.
Cooke has hated me for my on-air exposure of her scams and foibles…ironically, her sister was a big fan of mine….yes, that same sister who got a nice job with the state, and her son who got a nice job with the state. Bottom line, DiPinto and Cooke won the fight…and the fact that more and more kids will become addicted gamblers because of their scumbag move, is of no consequence to them…..chalk another one up for the bad guys.
I AM RESURRECTING MY ” WILMINGTON VIEWS JOURNAL ” WEEKLY “VIEWS-PAPER”. FIRST ISSUE COMES OUT DOWNTOWN ON MONDAY, FEBUARY 18TH….PICK IT UP.

  1. Duffy Says:

“There is a bill floating around, and guaranteed to pass, to allow land owners of trailer park properties to give themselves a totally free hand to raise the land rents of all trailer park residents.”

Emphasis added. Why is it OK to restrict the amount of rent someone collects? Why is it OK to curtail their income? Why not limit the amount you can charge for a book you have written? Why not limit the amount of money you can earn per hour?

It’s their property. They should be allowed to rent it for whatever the market will bear.

  2. Gerry Fulcher Says:

    OK, DUFFY:
SHOULD THE MARKET ENCOURAGE AND ALLOW FLEECING? “Sure” says Duffy, “Why not…let every one do whatever one wants to do to make more and more and more money; until you have it all, and screw those you are taking it from.
When the hell does it stop…or should it never stop, Duffy?
When is enough enough? You’ve had the religious training, human nature left to its selfish greed knows no limits. A land owner in a trailer park should be allowed to just keep taking and taking and taking. Is that the kind of society you want?…..wait, don’t answer….I think you’ve already given your answer….

I forget who said it first (it wasn’t me) “A nation will be judged by how it treats the weakest segment of it’s society.” In Duffy’s philosophy it must read, “A society will be judged by how much a person can screw his neighbor to whatever length it takes to make as much money as he can.”

Should Delaware have a bill enacted which allows a trailer park property owner double, triple or quadruple the rent to whatever degree he wants to?
Once again, don’t answer….you’ve made yourself very clear on the subject. At least Terry Spence (and me) think there should be a realistic level, which doesn’t destroy a person’s reasonable right to have a place to live.

  3. A Little Birdie Says:

diPinto has been a terrible ‘public servant’ since his days on Wilmington City Council. Somehow he got the mantle of ‘one of the good guys in Dover.’

I am not surprised by what happened w/cooke & him….but I don’t see it as a vendetta against you but rather another ‘pass’ for big gambling interests.

That’s what diPinto’s doing in Wilm.’s Econmic Dev….paving the way for riverfront gaming. (I hear the Mayor hits the slots on a regular basis.).

You are right about ‘screw the kids.’ But let’s face it the state could hardly support ‘GA type’ programs for kids and regularly expand gambling ‘opportunites’ throughout the state, right?.

  4. Watcher Says:

    >>I put together a proposal and gave it to JFC. It callled for writing a preventive high school course, get it into schools throughout the state; and teach teachers how to teach the course. IT PASSES IN THE JOINT FINANCE COMMITTEE…it’s $20,000. Ok, signed, sealed and delivered, right? WRONG<<

Did you try to arrange for this “pass through” of tax payer $$ while you were a talk show host? Were some legislators afraid to deny it to you because you might bad mouth them on the air? Did some legislators protest the pass through because they felt sick about you getting the money that way?

  5. Gerry Fulcher Says:

    WATCHER:
Interesting name you used….because now, Asshole, I want you to WATCH this…..these are grants I have written in my long, long, grant writing career…..ALL FOR GROUPS WHICH HELPED PEOPLE, AND TO WHICH I DONATED MY GRANT-WRITING EXPERTISE FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN BECAUSE THEY WERE NEEDED, AND I HAPPEN TO BE A DAMN GOOD GRANT WRITER……AND THESE ARE JUST THE ONES I DID FOR DELAWARE
(I won’t bore you with the ones I did for agencies in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsulvania—geginning in 1969).

DELWARE GRANTS WHICH BROUGHT MORE THAN $800,000. You see, instead of doing the kinds of writing you do…which helps no one, I did this for agencies which help people, and which never would have gotten what they needed if I wasn’t a grant-writer expert…who used my ability to actually produce results that jerks like you could never even understand. Why dont you actually DO something for others like this, and then get back to me….until then shove this up you ass:
FEDERAL GRANTS I WROTE AND HAD SUCCESSFULLY APPROVED:
$100,000 for Wilmington College– 1976/ $300,000 for Diocese Of Wilmington—1978/ $360,000 for Methodist Action Program–1980/
$22,000 Methodist Action Program–1981/ $15,000 Delaware Council on Gambling Problems–1983/ $3,000 for United Way for Family Court training project–1981/ $2,000 Delaware Humanities Forum–1982/
    $6,000 Saint Peter’s Senior Center–1982/
Grace me with your interpretation as to my motivation for those accomplishments……I presume you do know the meaning of the word “accomplishments”—-seeing as you’ve certainly never actually had a meaningful accomplishment in your lifetime, I’m sure.
The project for the schools was needed, was documented by the U. of D. study….and will now go unanwered—-

Why can’t you ever just think in terms of the issues and human service needs….instead of the personality factor?
Wait! don’t answer, I already know the answer….BECAUSE YOU ARE A FLAMING ASSHOLE, and can’t even fathom some one doing selfless work for the good of other people in need. My history on this topic is well decumented
